I am pleased to confirm that I will be taking part in the Portsmouth Arts Trail - Created in Portsmouth 17-19 October 2014. I will confirm details when the leaflets have been published. Another exciting opportunity for Shake Your Glass!
The aim of the trail is
"To create opportunities for the 'Artists' in Portsmouth to reach the public in Portsmouth and make art and craft of a high standard accessible to those who currently feel 'it's not for them' as well as open the eyes of the residents of Portsmouth to the bounty of skill surrounding them." Hampshire Open Studios and Festival Break

Hampshire Open Studios is fast approaching! I've been busy behind the scenes contacting local press and listing the event on all the local radio and news websites.
If you have any further suggestions or would like a brochure please contact me.

I have had lots of lovely commission work on the go this week and was sent this photo of the lovely Georgia on her prom night - I custom made both earrings and pendant. Her dress is to die for!!

Yesterday saw a little spot in the local paper The News so I was very pleased about this.

I'm off to recharge by energy attending 2 festivals over the next 2 weekends. Barefoot in Leicester and Wacken in Germany.
Have a fabulous 10 days, Elisa.

New Bird Decal Fused Glass Pendants

How is everyone this week? I did a tac fuse on a range of bits that had been on the to do and well I ran the new kiln a bit too low. The glass came out attached but didn't look like it had been fused. Oh dear! The torch got fired up and did a bit of stringer work practice, I want to suss out winding the stringer continuously 1 without burning myself and 2 without over heating. I'm getting there! I also got these new design bird decal pendants in the kiln - I especially love the flamingo. Think I need one in my life maybe in yellow! Have a great weekend, E x

February already - how did that happen?

I assure you that it has been all go behind the scenes here. I got a fab second hand Skutt Hotstart Pro so as you can imagine my ideas bank is in overdrive with all this new space to play with. January also saw the arrival of some new textured glass to test out. There are unfinished testers all over the place but hey this is what the beginning of the year is all about. Reviewing products, trying out new ones, looking back at last years mistakes and the dreaded tax return which actually was really alright. So 2014 is set to be awesome. Here are a few old faithful designs. Have a romantic Valentine's tomorrow, Elisa x

New Pop Pendant Designs & Lampwork Bead Bottle Openers

So this last week has been lovely and positive. The vibe at the Mind, Body and Spirit Fayre was great with such a lovely crowd of customers and fellow stallholders. Off the back of that I made my first rainbow Chakra bead which turned out pretty well (pic on my Facebook).
My new lampwork bead bottle openers have been popular and I have had a few commissions for different colours. This last week also saw some of the new decal designs out of the kiln and I'm really pleased how they have come out. Have a great weekend mine is the calm before the fair a week season, Elisa :)
