So it was about time I had a life size helping hand to give a real perspective of the size of my hair accessories and jewellery. Rox was the best looking mannequin on the block and although slightly more expensive than her polystyrene cousins I think she will be worth her wait in gold!

Last week's commissions.

So I've been a busy bee along with booking up for some new events. The last few weeks have seen some fabulous commission work including a full birdcage veil with rose, a top hat fascinator and a new 1 on me - a cake topper!

Stained Glass Workshop

So as I love all things glass related it has been on my to do list for a while to try my hand at stained glass using lead. Last weekend the day finally came...
I started by drawing a design taken from ideas in a number of books. The panel I was making was 8x10inches.
The process is more methodical than I expected working from the top left hand corner like a puzzle to build up your design.
Below gives you a good idea how the finished piece looks although now it has been soldered, cemented and polished.

I was very pleased with my panel. It was a great experience but not to be repeated by me anytime soon unless I get a bigger studio!!!

Wiretastic!

So below is the lovely commission bracelet I made to match the Nicole Headband. I love this delicate style and it looks soo pretty with the ribbon to make it just that bit different.


January has been great this year with lots of fantastic ideas from my customers for me to re create. I've just finished an elfin style wedding choker and earrings againg using the ribbon fastening. The kiln has been on twice this week melting jewellery and I've had a bead shop so I can make a tiara.

More Fused Glass....

Ok so I thought why not try and fuse the bowl back together - 2 fuses later and as you can see from below it is back together in a fashion. It still has signs of the previous crack and a new 1. Modern art - Tate here I come!

This week I've made some lovely wirework jewellery commissions. I'll post pics on my facebook page (www.facebook.com/elisaloves) once the brides have them safely in their hands!
So this week I'm going to finish some fused glass jewellery. I have been working on designs for a customer and hopefully her super funky ideas will take shape. I can't wait to see what the kiln does plus I'm going to add in a few experiments of my own.


Also this week I started to work towards my new years resolution. Bearing in mind it has been my resolution for as long as I can remember and never happened - I had my first swimming lesson and it was no way as evil as expected! I even could say I'm looking forward to the next 1! I know, who'd have thought it. 2012 I'm starting as I mean to go on, have a good weekend, E x
