Distracted by exercise!
Ok I'll admit it. This week I have been totally distracted with my new membership to the gym. I've started my commissions and 3 new tiara bands but well nothing has got finished.
I have never set foot in a gym in my 30years until this week and well I think I'm in the honeymoon zone.
Let me give you the background - it was suggested I sign up because I attend 2 fitness classes a week and it works out cheaper to be a member. This then includes free swimming pool access and a gym program. I figured be rude not to try these out - yes everything in one week. Eek indeed, my abs are killing me.
Now I can see the addiction but not for those who plod reading a paper on the tredmill - really what is the point? But if you have a little program to follow to achieve what you want then it's like a tailor made quick fix to making it happen. As you can imagine I'm time poor as most modern folk are and this extra hour can squeeze in without to much fuss. In the words on a 12 year old "AWESOME!"
Have a fab weekend, E x

What is Lampworking?
I get asked quite a lot to explain the process of lampworking or more easily defined as glass bead making. I finally got my lovely housemate to take some pictures as I thought a visual aid would better explain!
So the first photos show me melting a glass rod and then winding the molten glass around the dipped mandrel to create a spiral. This spiral of glass is then manipulated to create the bead shape you want. Below is my current set up, not ideal but it works!
An insight to my world...any questions feel free to ask! Also lots of good news this week and jewellery adventures on the horizon. I'll tell all as they unfold. Have a great weekend, E x

I heart glass!
I had a really productive week! I spent some time getting my hand back in making glass beads along with trying out my new birdie decals. I think you'll agree they are pretty funky!
So my big hole beads are a little wobbly in places but I'm pleased with the results.
This weekend if you want to buy some original jewellery or just come and have a chat about what I do I'll be in Havant (see flyer below) tomorrow and at Shedfield Cricket Fun Day on Sunday
The bain of a glass addict is that there is never enough time to create all your ideas! I'll just have to keep writing them down. Have a fabulous weekend! E x

Inspiring Australia
I have just spent the majority of May in Australia. The primary reason for choosing to go so far was to visit one of my closest friends. We chose 4 destinations on the East Coast - Sydney, Brisbane, Cairns and Cape Tribulation. My head has been buzzing with new ideas inspired mostly by the amazing wildlife. Just to give you a taster I have copied a few pictures below...
So since returning I've been trying to get my head back on time and scribbling designs on my pad. I have to commission work to do over the bank holiday and then 2 events next weekend.
Happy Jubilee! E x

A productive week
I had a lovely time at the Guildhall Boutique on Sunday and have had a steady flow of sales to keep me busy this week.
Last night I added some new designs to my glass cabinet at Moods Studio.
In between I managed to finally work on a piece I've been meaning to make for a while. Let me know what you think?
Vintage inspired side tiara band...
This weekend I plan to finalize the plans of my upcoming Australia adventure and may even start to pack. Have a great weekend, Elisa x

The Glassy Results
So lets start with the bad news. I did indeed get excited and use my glass noodles but forgot one fundamental fact that coes don't mix unless it's in small amounts. Unfortunately this means that on opening the kiln yesterday each of these little beauties has a hairline crack... :(
Saying that I do have some shott clear so will try again soon.
On the positive note I love love love my circle cutter. Yes clear is evil but it's worth getting bloody fingers to get these fab results. E x
