November = creativity overload

I don't know if your like me but as soon as November hits and all those selling events fill the diary those projects I've been meaning to do for months well just happen like magic. I'm always left puzzled as to why it wasn't completed before as in fact I've made 3 similar items in 1 hit without space for a cuppa. Maybe I need to fool myself into thinking it's November more often...huuumm. Below is a taste of some of these makes. See you Sunday at the Guildhall Boutique Market, have a good one, E x :)
Cherry Pop earrings using some beads I've made.

Dusky Peony a funky wirework bracelet.

A selection of upcycled fascinator top hats.

Happy Halloween!

If your anything like me then you'll love Halloween. Not only are all the trees showing the most amazing array of colours but it's an excuse to play fancy dress. This year it's going to be an extra special weekend for 2 reasons. Firstly I'm taking part in Thrill The World - a worldwide dance event for charity. I get to dress up as a zombie and dance the Thriller dance next to HMS Victory - awesome! Then secondly one of my good friends is off to Oz for a while so we are having a party and hoping she will be dressed as a zombie Kangeroo ( well it is halloween!!) LOL! I will post some pictures.
So back to the craftyness - I have been loving playing with glass and made up some of my new lampwork beads into the jewellery below.

I've also made some other new costume jewellery but that will have to wait til next week for photos. Have a lovely weekend, Elisa x

These cute little time pieces are some of the new additions that arrived this month.

The Tiara bands above are made with lovely semi precious Peridot, Garnet and Amethyst. These lovely colours are fantastic rich jewel colours ideal for Autumn.
I've got no events this month so am looking forward to completing a couple of commissions and having some fun time playing and testing both fusing and lampworking glass. Yipee!

As well as some funky glass and creation making this week already, I decided to bake some yummy banana and chocolate muffins. Great for when your bananas have gone a bit squishy!

Earring Bonanza!

So this week I thought I'd update you on my earring makes. Hope you like them!

I've also been busy making some new hair clips and cutting glass this week. It has been super creative but just not enough hours for all this photo taking and editing malarky so look out for pics of these next week. Had a mini trip to Hobbycraft to realise that I need some new beads. The Big Show is next month so looking forward to treating myself. Have a great weekend :) x

Ideas and events!

So after the success of the last few events it got me thinking of ideas to improve. The main decision was to move over from ElisaLovesWeddings on Folksy to create a new general shop ElisaLoves and just have a bridal collection. So the new page will be www.elisaloves.folksy.com but I will change tabs in due course.
The lovely commissions I made for a wedding went down well and I have pictured them below.

I will be attending other Guildhall Boutique Events and have a wedding fayre in Gosport on the 25th September.

A Bit Craftastic...fused glass, wirework, lampworking and gluing!

So above is one of the tester pieces from the other week. How awesome does that pic a mix style look? I was pretty excited with the results. I've had no chance to get on with any more fusing as have been playing with a few other ideas over the last couple of weeks. Below is a new design of bracelet using the popular vine wirewrapping technique I thought finishing with ribbon made a good change to the ordinary lobster clasp.

I made my first set of even sized beads which was very exciting. It was my friend's 40th birthday and she likes turquoise so I thought I'd set myself the challenge. What do you think?

Also I had my first play with the new glue gun. Very messy but lots of fun. I got a bit carried away and this 1 is a bit heavy so I will have to style my hair securely in an up do for it to sit correctly due to it's weight.

My goodies have arrived so I can make my own fascinator for Pamela's wedding at the end of the month. I've taken inspiration from Philip Treacy's Butterfly hats and ordered lots of green and black butterflies! Watch this space!
Have a great weekend, Elisa x

Look what I got!

Woo so I got a great bargin last week. My friend is off travelling and was selling off her glass so I had a bit of a splurge! I did some test pieces so looking forward to a proper session when I find the time. Got a few sales planned this month which I'll update when confirmed.

Ideas but no practice.

So we had an amazing time at Gothla. I had a free morning Saturday and visited Leicester's vintage market in the cathedral which got my brain ticking with ideas. The clothing wasn't my style but I loved the cute jewellery and accessories, not that that's really any surprise.
Over the weekend I attended 4 workshops all in different styles of dance which were all great fun. No dissapointment here! Above is a picture of us on the Saturday night.
I haven't been creative at all this week. I've got lots of ideas buzzing but haven't settled enough to put anything into practice. Have a good weekend, E x

Arrrrrr good times!

So in the last couple of weeks there have been lots of arrr moments and the biggest and best was N&G's wedding. What a lovely village fete themed day we had.
The next is that my other friend has confirmed she wants to head to Oz for a year. So good things and romance is most certainly in the air!

Above is the new freshwater pearl and Swarovski tiara I made and below a funky top hat fascinator for my Aunt.

So i'm off for a long weekend to Leicester with the girls. We're off to shake our stuff in a darker than normal way! Rock on! \m/ So have a rockin weekend, E x

It's all about the costume jewellery!

So as promised above I've included a few pictures of what I've been up on the Costume Jewellery front.
I have the first of my Summer events tomorrow so looking forward to that and been labelling all my new creations. This week has also seen a good flow of new commission requests so watch this space for some funky jewellery, a new tiara and fascinator.
Have a great weekend :) E x

Spain, owls and a new display cabinet!

So I forgot to mention last post that I was taking some time out to go on holiday. I'm lucky enough that my Aunt and Uncle live in Spain so I took a week to go and enjoy the delights of sun, wine, delicious food and of course bird watching!
They live near Torrevieja in the Alicante region. This area is famous for it's salt lakes and therefore boasts a wild flamingo colony. Which even though they are resident I didn't see 1 although I was pleased with seeing a Montagu's Harrier.
The first photo is at dusk on the morning we went out to walk la Mata nature reserve.

Below is my Aunt and I about to enjoy some traditional flamenco dance and good food.
Finally we spent a morning quad biking around this stunning lake. Really enjoyed it.

So back from Spain and my creativity has only got going today. I'm really pleased with the costume jewellery I've made but my camera died so the pics for that will have to wait. On returning from Spain we went to the New Forest to handle and fly owls for the day. They are such amazing creatures and so beautiful. We are really lucky.

Although as I mentioned before I've had little time to create I spent a day prepping my fantastic ebay purchase ready for it's new home. So Tuesday my man with a van came and my jewellery and creations are now on display at Moods Studio in Havant, Hampshire. I have to say I was really proud of how it looks. What do you think?

Have a lovely weekend! E :) x

Tack Fuse and my first go at Silversmithing!

So I thought I should really picture the fusing process. Following on from my last blog I photographed my work area, the pre fused layout and then the pieces ready to go in my lovely little kiln. Now most people give their kilns a name and I haven't gone down this route. I once named a car but I don't tend to name inanimate objects as a general rule but maybe I should as it has become quite an important part of my life. Huuummm food for thought.

So the exciting new adventure I had was my first attempt at silversmithing. I attended a one day workshop to learn how to make a decorative sterling silver ring. I really enjoyed the process, cutting, decorating and even the shaping and soldering but filing...wow what a dull process that is! I spent at least 2 hours making sure I wasn't going to hurt myself in anyway on sharp bits. I am wearing my new ring with pride. The theme I chose was bubbles.

Have a lovely day! Elisa :)
