Bank holiday Weekend, yeah yeah!

I went on my walk around the lake this week and bumped into the Coot above with her ugly but oh soo cute chick and this gorgeous looking Swan below. The weather was great and the signs of Spring just stood out.

So I've made a selection of new bracelets this week. I'm doing a May Day fair on Monday and it seems to be that bracelets are always the big sellers, does everyone else find this?

I feel quite excited as if the weather is good about 10,000 people come through so cross fingers they'll spend a few pennies before hitting the beer tent!

I have also experimented some more with bead making - I attempted to make a bead with a frog in. Ok so not a real frog but a silver foil stamped out version. Also made lots of space age looking beads as worked out how to make the silver glass look pretty by reducing. I will take some pictures so you can see what I mean.

Spring time....

So I've been making some new bits and bobs - they all seem to be really nice bright yellows, blues and oranges so obviously the creative part of me is embracing Spring.

I had a lovely weekend in Towcester at Flame off and the bead fair. It was great to meet such friendly inspiring people who were soo giving with their time and techniques. Big thank you!

This bead below I made at Towcester and was trying copper foil - it went black but I still think it looks really cool.

Easter Break Activities and Woo to bulk fuel!!

I had a lovely Easter weekend. I got my seeds planted, went to visit my friend at the animal sanctuary, went for a meal for Clint's birthday and a few drinks with the girls.

This year I decided to plant my seeds in a bit more of an organised fashion. Last year I threw all remaining seeds in pots and well they all grew - I couldn't believe it. I had to shed plants like mad as sooo many I couldn't cope with them.
So I've invested in 3 propagators with individual little sections for each seed - I have 3 types of tomatoes, 2 types of pepper, courgettes and salad leaves. Controlled growing this year.

The Arc has goats, pigs, a horse, ferrets you name it - I liked the goats and pigs a lot they were such characters. Very silly and inquisitive!

I'm really excited - yesterday finally (I feel like I waited forever even though it was only 3 months) the problem with the gas pressure on my glass bead making set up was resolved. We took everything including the 13kg propane tank to the guys at Migtigarc who fiddled and adjusted. Turned out that the regulator I had wasn't quite right.

So this weekend along with some sushi and a friends housewarming I'm planning on getting down to some bead making.

Silver Clay adventure and a bit from the heart...

Last Night I had my 1st ever play with silver clay. My friend Rachael works with it so talked me through the process. I was impressed with the earrings and pendant I made and would definitely use it again.

I'm feeling a little sad today as my Nan passed away yesterday, rest in peace. You can feel a little lost when things like this happen but I think it helps to be creative. It inspires you to look at all the simple things that make you happy and re assess the direction you want your own life to go.

On a positive note my Keum Bo earrings have been featured on a flyer for a Making Space event, I feel very flattered.

Despite feeling quite stressed (life things that are totally out of my control) I am determined to enjoy my birthday weekend.

It only comes once a year so everything will just have to be put on hold until Monday.
Tomorrow I'm off to Brighton with my Mum, Dad and Maddie then spending the weekend in Bournemouth and rocking out Saturday night.

I have a little inkling that my boyf has bought me a dremmel drill..... we'll wait and see.

Glass fusing and Keum Bo

Keum Bo is a Korean technique fusing gold leaf onto silver. I did a Saturday workshop last Saturday with Sarah Macrae and am really pleased with the earrings I made considering it was my first effort. Can you guess what they are meant to represent?.......
